This wedding shoot was something totally new for me. The wedding couple or family weren’t the one’s who’d contacted me. It was a friend of the bride, Ramya, and I was her wedding gift. Well, not literally, but as in my photos were to be her wedding gift. Creative gift, I tell you!
The wedding was at ITC Gardenia. The makeup happened in one of the rooms with an awesome aerial view of the Kanteerava stadium. Made me realise we could shoot some tilt shift photos from this location. Note for the future.
Guys rarely want their photos to be taken, and its our job to make them want to be in it. To be an integral part of it, and to look good. Its our job to remember that the day is not only about the bride.
Being the Wedding gift
In recent times, I’ve heard of this trend of hiring a wedding photographer as a wedding gift. This makes the expectation rise that much more, since there are now even friends counting on you. One has to make sure that you don’t miss the most important moments.
Also, since the couple didn’t call you, it takes a little time to break the ice. Sometimes its even a little uncomfortable as they might have to deal with other “professional photographers” and will consider you as one of them. Don’t ever let that happen!
