In June 2017, Karnataka’s Department of Youth Empowerment & Sports, and the Department of Tourism, along with Goodwave Adventures got together and hosted the first edition of the Kali Kayak Festival on the Kali river, deep inside Dandeli Forest in northern Karnataka. The idea behind this festival was to showcase the potential that Karnataka has for international adventure tourism and to promote paddle sports amongst the Indian youth.
