The Between Years Slackline Festival was organised by Slacklife Inc, in Lonavla, Pune, India, between 29th Dec to 1st Jan. I think it’s high time to ditch the party high on new years eve, and try something different, like this, a high that is just out of this world. Definitely one of the best ways to bring in the new year.

Puneeth and Adrian from our team went in advance to scout and shoot the festival. They spent 5 days in the middle of nowhere, shooting the BYSF on top of Duke’s Nose. A few days earlier, and they might’ve had the chance the bump into the 3 wise men and Jesus himself.

Shooting at Duke’s nose top itself was a challenge. It was a 2 km long hike up the hill and back, every single day, carrying all that equipment and gear. With hardly any trees or roads, this is no easy task. Sometimes you want to witness that first ray of the sunrise, or maybe shoot a time lapse, and that requires you to trek in the dark, much before the sun rises.

The festival itself is difficult to put in words. Hands down, one of the best ways to bring in the new year. You get to spend time in a hammock, suspended mid air on a high line, between the 2 peaks. There’s also multiple slack lines setup for entertainment, both at the base as well as the peaks. The nights also brings in all the athletes from all over the world, to share their stories over a bon fire. You get to even share unique talents like the hoola hoop, playing the guitar, poi balls, etc
