Well I might’ve missed the Sao Joao at Goa, but I did manage to have a good time with friends, and also found time to put the new tablet I got, to task. 5 days of sun, rain, alcohol, technology and fun 🙂
This Goa trip was a good break after a tedious 6 months of non stop work. Good break to get some fresh beach in my face. This time around, had a Dell Venue 8 tagging along, thanks to a Dell Blogger Project I’m a part of.
Must say, I’m pretty impressed with the device. Never used a tablet before, so all views are from a newcomer’s perspective.
Battery backup was impressive. Watched 3 episodes of Sherlock back to back on the bus, and batter was still above 60%. That’s 4.5 hours of video playback! Sound quality on the earphones was pretty decent. The glossy screen, while does attract a lot of fingerprints, works pretty well in the sun. Much better than my friends iPad.
Will be writing more about the device in the upcoming weeks. My initial thoughts on it are that it’s totally worth it at 19K for the 32gb Dell Venue 8. Need to push it to its limits to see its full potential.
Goa pics below.
Heyy…. I absolutely love the photos, you guys look like so much fun! I have been wanting to buy a nice tab for months now, but I am not able to make up my mind as to which one to buy.. this Dell tab looks like a nice buy… I’ll go have a look at it soon… hopefully this ends my search! Ty
Its quite the bang for the price. Mind you, these weren’t taken on the tab though 🙂
Whoa! 3 episodes of Sherlock & battery was still 60%+ that was impressive by Dell! Can you tell me whether the pics are from the tab or camera?
The pics are from the my camera @Valerie. Definitely not the tablet. Not tested the camera as yet, as that will happen in the coming month.
Your trip looks fun! Was the pics with the Tab too? Pretty cool that it worked better than the iPad especially considering the hug price difference!
I didn’t say it was better than the iPad Madhu, and I don’t think it is. I only said the display handles better in the sun, than the iPad. And the trip was good fun, thanks 🙂 Hit me up sometime and I can tell give you a list of things to do in Goa during the off season.
