My second international trip takes me to honeymoon in Maldives with Anup and Bhushan. We’re here to shoot whale sharks, manta rays and not to mention, a luxury hotel. A bikini shoot is also in the prospects. It’s a honeymoon of us with our second love, film making.

The flight from Cochin was a 90 minute roller coaster in a propeller plane. We landed in an island exactly the size of the airport. Exiting the airport, one will not see the usual taxi’s or buses. The only way out of the airport is via Ferry. From there, it’s a 10 minute trip to Male the capital.

Maldives is a hot and humid group of islands about 190 in total. Alcohol is prohibited, and found exclusively only in the luxury hotels and resorts. Tourism is big source of income, and hence the extremely hospitable people.

Maldives happens to be the country with the lowest highest natural point in the world. The highest natural point being a meagre 2.5 mts above sea level. It’s flat, and I mean like highway road flat! I’ve filled out my life insurance, just in case, before leaving.

Honeymoon in Maldives-4

Planning a Maldives honeymoon is perfect if you love the sun and sand. There’s multiple dive spots to enjoy the calm and surreal waters surrounding this place. Snorkelling is the most fun, as the waters are clear with a visibility of about 50mts at places.

I was lucky enough to spot some local graffiti too. With no alcohol or nightlife, I think these are the very few ways of breaking away for the young.
