Agam the band, featured on Hindu online edition

A small jam video i shot for Agam the band, which got featured on the Hindu online edition.

Although I’m not too proud of it, it got featured on the Hindu, so what the hell. Shot in like 30 minutes, I just had to shoot one song, and their intro. I didn’t have much of an idea of what the editor had in mind, sitting in Chennai, so i shot a lot of extra footage. A lot of which went to waste.

Shot at Sound Glitz on Brigade road, this place has a very unique jam room. No speakers used. The instruments are connected to the main mixer, and the output is heard through headphones, which the band have to make use of. Takes time getting used to, since shooting it means one gets to hear only the drums.

Agam the band

– excerpt from their site.

Their style is Rock / Progressive Rock / Carnatic. Located in Bangalore, and the members are –

Harish – Vox
Ganesh – Drums
Praveen – Guitars
Jagadish – Guitars
Vignesh – Bass
Shiva – Percussions
Swamy – Keys

You can find more info about them atΒ http://www.agamtheband.in/

What cracks me up is The Hindu’s take on their music –

Classifying Agam as a rock band will be an injustice to its players. So how best to describe this band, which, over the past few years, has emerged as one of the crowd-pullers in the South Indian concert scene?

Well, to put it simply, theirs is the kind of rock music which you can safely listen to with your grandma, even impressing her in the bargain.
